Casa Hispana

Application for Housing in the Casa Hispana

Constitution of the Casa Hispana

The Casa Hispana is located on Peavine Creek Road (near the baseball fields) in a spacious modern house with a large yard, outdoor barbecue and plenty of parking space. The Casa Hispana provides students with the opportunity of living in a Spanish-speaking environment. It is also a center for departmental activities ranging from informal discussions of contemporary topics to the staging of cultural activities such as films, lectures, music and dance. A student from the Universidad de Salamanca resides yearly in the building and serves as a liaison between the Casa Hispana and the Department of Spanish. The affairs of the House are governed by a Constitution that defines the goals, responsibilites and expectations of its residents.

The Department of Spanish is currently accepting applications from students who wish to live in the Spanish House during the 2006-07 academic year. Students with at least two years of college Spanish or its equivalent are encouraged to apply. Fill out the attached application and return to the Department Office. The selection of residents will be completed before the regular University housing process begins.
