Welcome

Until recently and for many years the Latin American and Caribbean Studies program was housed in the Institute of Critical International Studies (ICIS).  Following the reorganization of area studies at Emory in 2009, the program was relocated.  Today the Department of Spanish and Portuguese is the home of LACS, which initiates the latest stage of its decades-long life at Emory in a new and intellectually hospitable environment.
